PAST EVENT REVIEW (K.E.Y PLATFORM 2013)

K.E.Y. PLATFORM makes you feel like watching a movie

MoneyToday Media held the “K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2013” in Yeouido, Seoul on June 18, 2013, on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of its founding. Participants in the event said in unison, “It’s like watching a movie.” One participant from a local brokerage firm commented, “The 2018 Global Scenario video made me feel like watching a movie in a theater. It was so impressive that I even found myself wondering what I will be doing five years from now.”

The “K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2013” was organized as an event through which participants can forecast the global economic environment for the next five years. According to the “2018 Global Scenario” presented at the general assembly, the business environment is expected to change at an unprecedented pace for the next five years. It predicts the advent of an era of G0 featuring no clear leadership and the weakening of traditional growth engines against the backdrop of low global growth. However, it also sees some positive signs with the emergence of technologies like 3D printing, wearable computing, green energy, big data, cloud computing, etc.

The audience was especially appreciative of the Seoul to Chicago video conversation with Austan Goolsbee, professor at the University of Chicago and former economic advisor to U.S. President Barack Obama. A participant from a logistics firm mentioned, “I felt that speakers were well-prepared. The unique and fresh format and clear themes enabled me to easily understand the contents; I even felt an impulse to take part in every session, if possible.”

Foreign speakers also joined the ranks of K.E.Y. PLATFORM fans. Michael Träm, Advisory of Droege International Group, who led the general assembly, spoke very highly of the conference, saying “I was able to find innovative ideas, surprising inspiration, and insight that can enhance corporate capabilities to implement business strategies. Business leaders were in a position to prioritize targets for innovation and transformation through the K.E.Y. PLATFORM.” Herald Heinrich, professor of Luneburg University stressed, “It was surprising to see the process of various viewpoints being converged towards one point through the collective intelligence of experts. It’s a brand-new approach. This conference is a must-attend event for everyone, regardless of their areas of expertise.”

The “K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2013” was not over yet when it had to be wrapped up. All the stories from the conference were compiled into a book titled “The Crucial Future in 5 Years,” which was published later in November 2013. The book has been once put on the best-seller list in economy and business administration category.

It has yet to see it final curtain fall. The 2013 event served as a venue for us to think over how to prepare for the next five years while the succeeding conference should provide an opportunity to specifically answer the question of ‘how’. Namely, the “K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2014” should function as a reply to the “K.E.Y. PLATFORM 2013.” It will meet the needs of the times.
